Rachel Maddow earned a bachelor’s degree in public policy at Stanford in 1994. At graduation, she was awarded the John Gardner Fellowship. She also received a Rhodes Scholarship and began her postgraduate study in 1995 at Lincoln College, Oxford. She was awarded a doctorate in political science from the University of Oxford.

The book shows a consistency of focus and principle. It shows life experiences where she wanted to listen to those who disagreed with her and appreciated it when the opportunity came.
