Stories and Strategies from a Life of Leadership, Mentorship, and Discovery

Brent M. Jones
Writer • Explorer of Life’s Connections • Former Business Executive

I’ve always believed that true success comes not only from hard work, but also from recognizing the unexpected connections that shape our lives.

My career began in entrepreneurship, where I founded and ran companies across fifteen states. Over time, I stepped into leadership roles as CEO, EVP, GM, and CFO—guiding businesses through growth, training teams, and navigating the shifting demands of multiple industries. Whether it was tripling sales at regional food distributors, overseeing operations for a 100-store restaurant chain, or consulting globally through GLG, the lesson was always the same: people—not products—are the heart of any enterprise.

Later, I expanded that focus on people through service. At a large employment center, I worked one-on-one with job seekers both locally and globally. For more than five years, I helped individuals sharpen their resumes, strengthen their LinkedIn profiles, and prepare with confidence for career transitions.

Today, semi-retired from executive life but fully engaged as a writer and mentor, I continue exploring the connections between business, career, and personal meaning. Through Connected Events Matter and Connected Events Publishing, I share books, essays, and reflections designed to help others find clarity, direction, and purpose.

Life is a series of connected events, and I remain committed to exploring, learning, and writing about them.

"Every connection carries meaning. Every moment holds a story."

A Note on My Writing Process

Writing has always been a personal journey for me—not something I would ever hand over to shortcuts or trends. Every book I publish comes directly from my experiences and reflections. While I work with editors to refine my writing, the ideas, stories, and voice are fully my own. Authenticity matters to me, and I hope readers feel that on every page.

“Not every dragon is meant to be slain. Some are meant to remind us that imagination, curiosity, and a sense of wonder are just as important in life as strategy and planning. Writing for me has always been about both — facing challenges with courage and remembering that stories carry meaning in every moment.”
