"Connections and Why They Matter"
Most of what happens in our life will spark a connection. Life connects with what has been found in books. Books connect with what happens in life. Use the connections to help you see more clearly. A love of reading and writing is what motivated the creation of this blog. Thank you for coming to the blog.
We spend years chasing jobs, titles, and paychecks without stopping to ask the simplest question: Who am I, really?
When I first wrote The Human Factor: How Finding Your Dream Job Starts by Getting to Know Yourself, I wanted to help readers see that a successful job search begins with self-awareness. It wasn’t just about polishing résumés or nailing interviews — it was about understanding your values, your strengths, and your goals before stepping into the room.
That book opened conversations with readers across the world. But as time went on, I realized the message needed to go deeper. Work is more than finding the “dream job.” It’s about creating a life and career rooted in purpose. That realization became the heart of my new book: The Human Factor: Discover Yourself, Clarify Your Purpose, Create Work that Matters.
This second book builds on the first but broadens its scope:
From job seekers to anyone facing change or reinvention.
From tactics to a framework — Discover → Clarify → Create.
From finding work to building a life that matters.
If you take away one idea today, let it be this: before chasing opportunities, define what matters most to you. Write down the three values you would never compromise on in work or life. That simple act can shift the way you see your career — and yourself.
This section will feature insights, reflections, and behind-the-scenes notes connected to The Human Factor. My hope is that it becomes more than a book page — a space for ongoing discovery about what makes our work, and our lives, meaningful. Note: This edition expands on my earlier book The Human Factor: How Finding Your Dream Job Starts by Getting to Know Yourself. While the first book focused on self-awareness in the job search, this new version goes further — guiding you to discover who you are, clarify your purpose, and create work that truly matters.
