The eyes capture attention in Art and become the message

Is the woman on a ladder the painter, or is she a prop to dehumanize the painting? Perhaps we are expected to believe that the painter will paint the blue eye green? No way that would be wrong!

Is wanting the painter to leave the picture wrong? Is interpreting the painting wrong? I plead guilty! Are these questions enough to be considered an art review?

Of course, there is more here than we see. That is why the questions don’t have answers.

Do artists testify by revealing more than we see or by seeing more than is revealed?
