Kindness is a decision that requires action.

It's important to follow your heart to live a more fulfilling life. Although listening to your heart may or may not lead to tangible success, not following it can increase your risk of regret. When emotions drive reasoning, it's the heart speaking. Kindness isn't just a decision the intellect makes; it requires the heart to spur action. Doing nothing isn't a neutral position - it can be unkind. Conversely, taking action can sometimes come across as cold. As humans, are we inherently kind? When we act from the heart, are we embracing or surpassing our humanity?

Here are some relevant quotes that speak to these themes:

"The heart has its reasons of which reason knows nothing." - Blaise Pascal

"Kindness is not an intelligent decision. It is one the heart makes without motive." - Blaise Pascal

"Indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike." - J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear, and the blind can see." - Mark Twain

"It is futile to judge a kind deed by its motives. Kindness can become its motive. We are made kind by being kind." - Eric Hoffer

"My religion is straightforward. My religion is kindness." - Dalai Lama
