"Connections and Why They Matter"
Most of what happens in our life will spark a connection. Life connects with what has been found in books. Books connect with what happens in life. Use the connections to help you see more clearly. A love of reading and writing is what motivated the creation of this blog. Thank you for coming to the blog.
This poem explores the quiet questions that rise after difficulty—when recovery is less about returning to what was, and more about discovering who we are becoming. Do we fall in order to grow, or do we grow because we have fallen? Is recovery the destination—or simply another step along the road?
If you’ve arrived here from Pinterest, welcome. Take a moment to slow down, breathe, and reflect on what your own journey has taught you. The poem below is more than words—it’s an invitation to pause, to question, and to see your experience in a new light.
Is Life the Road to Recovery? by Brent M. Jones
Does life require us to fall?
Is life the road to recovery, Or is recovery the road called life?
When do we truly learn life’s lessons? Does wisdom only come when we stumble?
Is life a process—or a test? If we knew what was needed, Would we still have to fall?
Does recovery give us vision, Or only time to reflect?
If we already knew what was missing, Would balance feel earned—or borrowed?
Does wisdom arrive at the ending, Or does it quietly mark the start?
