Sometimes it takes a really good book to enable the blind to see
Brent Jones
People often procrastinate because they're afraid of failing at the tasks they need to complete, but what could be more important than finding a job?
Some procrastinate because they think they are perfectionists, are fearful of doing poorly at a task, or are too disorganized with their time and resources. If a person thinks they are a perfectionist and won’t even try because they are afraid of failing, is that believable?
One answer is that fear of failure reduces people's sense of autonomy or ability to act on their own or that they are incapable of dealing with a task that they're afraid to fail at. Perhaps a good book on finding a job is just a crutch and not something needed? Even if that is the case, they ought to use what works, even if it is a crutch—finding a job when you don’t have one matters.
