It is probably one of the most valuable and helpful books I’ve read. Every young person just leaving college or high school and preparing to enter the workforce should read this book. It is also great for those of us who have been in the force but are preparing for a career change, especially if we have been in our current positions for a while. The job market is much different than it was ten years ago when I was looking for my first post-college job. Grab this book! It is so helpful and might help you land your dream job.

Reading 'The Human Factor by Brent M. Jones, I came across this quote that made me think about books: A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies... The man who never reads lives only one. (Jojen and George R.R. Martin - A Dance with Dragons)
Question to all of you, what books have you read that have made an impression on you and your life? I guess mine is 'The Human Factor' - it is helping me identify me and my story and "who I am"! Sometimes it's good to find oneself again!

Chelsea Burdick -Amazon Review of Networking with a Purpose: The Informational Interview is the book everyone looking for a job needs. Jones explains that many hiring managers love to hire from within or hire people recommended to them by someone they trust. In these situations, these jobs almost never reach the posting stage. So how do you land one? That’s where the informational interview and networking come into play. Jones gives excellent, practical advice to help you get into the industries you want and get one step closer to landing your dream job.

Jones’s writing is fantastic. It is so easy to read. He does a fantastic job explaining things and providing relatable examples. Every college or high school grad looking to enter the workforce must read this book. Learning to network appropriately will give them a leg up in the job market.
