Cars aren’t typically considered art because they are not made by someone with artistic intention?

Cars aren’t typically considered art because someone does not make them with an artistic intention: this statement is incorrect. All cars started out with someone’s artistic intention. Some intentions may be less impressive than others.
Cars are designed for one specific purpose–to get from point A to point B. When you look at a car, it’s hard to tell if it’s meant to be beautiful or ugly, happy or sad, serious or funny. Another crazy conclusion.
Some say an art car is a vehicle that has had its appearance modified as an act of personal artistic expression. Art cars are often driven and owned by their creators, sometimes called "Cartists".
Most car artists are ordinary people with no artistic training. Of course all people are ordinary people.
