Passion for What

What do we have a passion for? Love, kindness, and passion are what focuses us. They drive us. We lose ourselves in those feelings.  They fill our minds, and we have little place for worrying about ourselves.

In the play Cat’s the cats all audition for the opportunity to go back and have another life. They feel that it would be good to do that because, as one of the cats said so well in the song "Memory", they had the experience but missed the meaning. They had lived once and wanted another shot and the next time they wanted to find the meaning.

Benjamin Franklin said "that if passion drives you, let reason hold the reins". Well of course passion drives us, and hopefully that passion has some reins creating control. Hopefully we are pointed in a good direction.

"We must act out passion before we can feel it."-Jean-Paul Sartre

"It is obvious that we can no more explain a passion to a person who has never experienced it than we can explain light to the blind"-T. S. Eliot

“Never trust people who don't have something in their lives that they love beyond all reason.” -Fredrik Backman
