We write "in the moment", but that isn't the same "moment" that those thoughts are read in.
Some may be tempted to look back at their writing and feel it was their best. The writing itself will always be the same, but the author will have changed. The author that wrote the previous writing has moved on with new experiences and no longer exists as the same person.
We exist only in the "now". We can't be who we were, and our best writing will only be the writing we do today. That puts a burden on becoming a better author as time passes.
Prior thoughts may still have relevance, but our past writing is not our greatest achievement. We can build on what we wrote before, even if it was about our on life. As we reconnect we reinvent the present.
